My fall TBR is looking a little more like a reading wish list, but, I do have all the books on my shelves waiting for pages to be turned so I’ve been getting in my chapters whenever I can. I started with Witch Queen Rising by Savannah Stephens, and will likely ends somewhere between Monstrilio and The First Family by Granger.
There are so many books that pop up on my fall vibe radar. I took a good few weeks to narrow down what I really really wanted to read to kick off what I love to call my Reading Season🖤 I spend nearly all spring and summer outside turning our yard into a little secret garden, so when the early sunsets and chilly evenings start, I grab a book and my warmest sweats. I’ll even start outside until it gets too cold. We aren’t quite there yet, it’s getting really close, but I’ll be making the most of whatever the weather wants to bring this year🍂
One of the things I’ve been trying to be good about is reading borrowed books first. My current library read is Witch Queen Rising by Savannah Stephens, and while I don’t normally read more than one book at a time, it currently has all of my attention as my copy of Mexican Gothic waits patiently on the shelf.
To stay focused, I’ve grouped all but my borrowed books together on a bookcase in my bedroom. Otherwise, I will find myself moseying over to my other bookcases browsing like I’m not already reading something!
These are in no particular order, but I plan to dip in and out of genres to keep it interesting. And I just finished The Secret World of Maggie Grey by Granger last month, but I know I’m going to want to reference while reading The First Family so I made space on my shelf for both🔮
Another thing I’ve been trying to be good about is keeping track of what I’m reading, and connecting with the book community so I joined a couple of book clubs on Fable. No idea what I’m doing on there yet, but it’s fun so far!
If I start a book, and I don’t like it or can’t get into it, I’ll switch to something else. Lately, it hasn’t been an issue, but I’ve also made a habit of re-reading the synopsis before I start reading it. Otherwise, I might be setting myself up for a let down trying to read the wrong thing at the wrong time.
Normally, I’d have a better plan for what I’m going to read next, but I’m trying to go with the flow so that I sprinkle a little bit of everything I’ve been wanting to get my hands on lately.
It’s already cozy reading season for a lot of us book girlies, and here is my Fall TBR List for this year. I usually just make a list in my planner, but I had time to have some fun with decorating this one.
So, by the time I was done making edits and the cute graphic for this post, I had already finished Witch Queen Rising and started another book. I’m in the middle of I Punched An Alien And Now We’re In Couples Therapy by Kimberly Lemming. It’s funny, super spicy and hella suspenseful, if you’re looking for something adventurous.

Photo evidence below that I will crowd the shelves when needed. What’s on your TBR shelf this season?
